i can't deal w this "founding fathers lets preserve liberty & what's right in America take it back to the good old days" argument for gun control. first of all, this country was erected on the backs of slaves, so lets get back to what exactly? above all else, we should be less concerned with guns in relation to liberty & more concerned with education because that will ALWAYS be the only thing to truly liberate someone. guns are obsolete in terms of protection. we have an arsenal of nuclear weapons; if the government wanted to become a tyranny nobody's fucking ak47 is going to save them. it'll be Hiroshima up in this bitch before you fire off a single round. critical thought & deductive reasoning are imperative to progress. like, when do we ever use boots on the ground? we strike people with drones, but the military industrial complex has us investing into guns, bullets & lining the pockets of dick cheneys & other "pro liberty" jackasses who manipulate scared people into thinking they can protect themselves single handedly. we have mass shootings, you're safer in Iraq than you are Chicago, but sure, we can focus on the infringement of personal "liberties." like, liberty is a privileged ass concept. so many people would rather pull a trigger than address their actual fears & problem solve. deplorable. I'm never going to be driven by fear or let someone scare me into thinking I need a gun to be free; the constitution is a living document. there are amendments to address societal changes. if we always "respected" the constitution w/out challenging information, all women would be some man's property & anyone with one drop of African blood (despite the fact science can affirm we all have lineage & ancestry from Africa because that's where civilization & humans all derive) considered three fifths a person. gun control isn't about America, it isn't about liberty, it isn't about anything that you're being force fed by the heritage foundation or the NRA. wake the fuck up & examine the world around you before adopting a philosophy that's against your respective interests.
