 Black history month has almost encouraged me to be on my Marcus Garvey back to Africa bullshit.

 I refuse to acknowledge the white man's "black history month." black history shouldn't be cast aside from American history because black history IS American history. just because text books are written from the Eurocentric patriarchal cis gender white male perspective doesn't negate the contributions & history of my people. fuck your February & fuck your lessons on Martin Luther king Jr, rosa parks & other "white friendly" historical figures. fuck your Slavery lessons that are laced w white guilt & that don't cover the full scope or magnitude to do the injustice justice. fuck all these racist ass memes "Tyrone first black man to steal?" how about Tyrone & his people were stolen & brought to this country as a commodity. "first black man to run from the cops?"how about black people excel at sports & running because Slave owners genetically bred us like some fucking dressage stallions.  Darwinism for that ass. black women should be "natural?" but we have schools trying to ban braids & "Afro puffs" & we consistently reinforce a Eurocentric beauty standard? fuck your Eurocentrism & what white people desire black women to be. black history month brings out more racism than Halloween (when some white people find it appropriate--even comical--to dress in blackface.) I'd almost rather see white people dressed up in black face on Halloween than have to deal w the constant desecration of my history. this entire month is an insult to my people & my identity & I refuse to acknowledge or rejoice in this Tom foolery just to alleviate white people of their guilt. don't designate a month for my history & seclude it as though it doesn't coincide with actual history. I celebrate black history throughout the entire calendar year.

 YES. yes the fuck it would. white history has been indoctrinated since the beginning of time. who do you think writes "American history"?!?!?! there's a reason the white man stole native American children in order to "assimilate" them into white culture and how did they do that? by forcing them into white schools. when we integrated black children into the school system in the sixties it wasn't to enrich their education, it was to rob them of their history & forcibly assimilate them. history is imperative to identity. when people don't know their history they don't develop a sense of self or they fall victim to stereotypical assumptions & misconceptions.
