Jay Z To Sell Off Barclays Center Ownership Stake
After selling off his Brooklyn Nets stake to new coach Jason Kidd, Jay Z is now set to sell his stake in the team's arena: Barclays Center.
According to Forbes, the hip-hop mogul is forced to unload his ownership in the arena, as well as the NBA franchise, due to the launch of his sports agency Roc Nation Sports -- team owners aren't allowed to represent athletes.
Jay reportedly owns slightly less than one-fifth of one-percent of the Barclay Center. Based on a recent appraisal of $741 million, he could stand to take home $1.5 million in the sale. Forbes, however, says he may get more given the success of the arena, which was the top-grossing venue in America through the first half of 2013.
