Chaz Talks About His 25th Hour Project, Upcoming Moves, & more w/ LGNDVRY
Recently we got the chance to catch up with Chaz and talk about his 25th Hour project & more. Check out how the interview went below.
and justforchaz.com for updates.
1. First, Tell Us Who You Are, Where Your From & Who's The Clique?
I go by chaz, I'm from sacramento, California, and I'm currently 22. Sometimes people who know me personally ask me why I don't give myself a stage name. I always felt like the names I came up with sounded corny so I just stuck with my first name haha. The homies: Soundcap Audio (Pete & ghost), DJ cos the kid, Dunnie, all the old cast members, blue, Eli (highly satisfied clothing), and easy.2. So word is you just released your new project "25th Hour" on DJCosTheKid.com... how'd you come up with that name & what's the inspiration behind the project as a whole?
Over the past few years I had been working a full time job at a bank. Creating music the way I wanted to was becoming more and more difficult. I always felt like there weren't enough hours in the day to do everything I wanted. I saw a lot of hard working people come into the bank everyday. It was inspiring to see and hear about what kind of struggles they went through to get to where they are now. I know a lot of friends who work two jobs and go to school. I wanted to create something that could represent that lifestyle. That's basically how the idea started and then it evolved from there.3. Who are some of the features or production on the project?
Man Ski Beatz blessed me with a track, Roman Austin, Easy produced hella joints, worked with lee Bannon on a track, and Npire da great produced one too. I kept the features to a minimum. Moses freemind and I rocked the Bannon track and my boy Antchedda laced some vocals on the project.4. Who are some artists that aren't on 25th Hour but that you look forward to working with in the near future?
It'd be cool to work with some more fly high artists. Definitely gotta link back up with C-plus again. It's been too long. Abstract ninja too because he's highly satisfied fam. Kahali oden's work is always dope, I've been a fan of his since he was doey rock. As far as the production side of things, I've been talking to ChaseMoore and we should be getting the ball rolling soon. Whoever wants to work, jus hit me, I'm all about expanding.5. What made you decide to get into hip-hop/rapping?
I've always been around music since a kid. My dad was a drummer when he was my age. It really started when I was about 14. Started writing funny raps in class making fun of teachers, that type of shit haha. I remember I recorded my first track when I was 15 and it was titled "I Go". The song was horrible but somehow managed to catch the attention of everyone at my highschool and I believe it had over one thousand plays in a week or so. After that all I wanted to do was get better and better.6. Since we can tell easily by listening to the music that you like to keep it lit so it's only right we ask what's your favorite weed strain? & method of smoking?
I'd have to say bubba kush out the king size raw paper. I gotta roll it tho...lol. Sometimes when I'm by myself I like to scaze some top shelf out the vaporizer. #scazeset7. What's next for Chaz aside from pushing this 25th Hour campaign?
Lately I've been working on the next project. I don't have a title for it yet, but I'm already very pleased with how my sound has progressed since the release of 25thHour. I look forward to getting more involved with my sponsor Highly Satisfied. We're currently working on some cut & sew crew necks so look out for the release date for those. Other than that, just focusing on making the music better as a whole. Always trying to perfect my talent.8. Anything else you wanna tell the people?
Never give up on your dreams. It sounds corny me saying that but most days I wanna quit what I do. But I'm still here, doing what I do best because I love it. My homies and I talk about quitting quite often actually. We always come to the conclusion that if you don't feel like quitting, you either aren't working hard enough or you don't truly love it.9. Where can they follow you or get some of your music?
