Jon Dough talks Higher Learning EP, Inspirations, & more

Recently we got the chance to link up with Jon Dough & talk about his new upcoming Higher Learning EP, his insiprations, who he runs with & more. Check out the interview below & cop that Higher Learning EP on August 3rd.

1.Who You Are, Where Your From & Who Are Some Of The Homies?

Well first off I go by the name of "Jon Dough", name was given to me by a good friend of my name "Blaze Trackz". Just one of those names that grew on me. I'm from the young 707 Fairfield, CA . The homies I roll with NardyBoe, Street Knowledge, Billy Gram, Mitchattnin, the whole FMG (Fresh Music Group), Dj Cos The Kid, Sky, Will Blax, Heff, C Plus, N-pire da great. Just a shorten list of people I roll with.

2. So word is on August 3rd you plan to release your new EP "Higher Learning," how'd you come up with that name & what's the inspiration behind the project as a whole?

The way I came up with the title "Higher Learning" was real simple. Me & a few of my niggas would chill at the roundtable and all we would do is smoke weed & I would soak up game from all the og homies that slide through. With that I gained alot of knowledge on just life, and a whole new look on things then before. The inspiration for putting together this project were two artist I watched put together projects from start to end and tell their stories. So I figured why can't I.

3. Who are some of the features or production on the project?

Well as being a new artist & not having such a huge fan base and a heavy arsenal of work yet. I figure I would make a EP , and keep the features low. 2 Fairfield artist that go by the name of "Billy Gram" & "Young Mezzy". & all production is done by 2 Fairfield producers "Dillon Chea" & "Brian Tronic", I wanted to keep it all original.

4. Who are some artists that aren't on Higher Learning but that you look forward to working with in the near future?

Well in the past year or so I've meet alot of artist & discovered so many different sounds. So I would have to say I look forward to working with IamSu & the whole HBK Gang, The A.R, NHT Boyz, Hollywood Keefy, C Plus, Npire Da Great. The list can go on and on I'm all about networking.

5. What made you decide to get into hip-hop/rapping?

As many know I grew up around "Billy Gram" as people knew him back in the day as B. Blanks lol the MixTape rapper. Just watching him as a broter figure in my life a rapper was something i looked up too. I was about 9 or 10, when I first started rhyming and I fell in love with the music. I was real shy at first didn't really make it known I rapper until 2008.

6. Since the project is title is "Higher Learning" it's only right we ask what's your favorite weed strain? & method of smoking?

As most people would say their favorite weed is OG or Cookies, don't get me wrong it's amazing weed. But my personal choice of weed is blue dream. I love the way it smells & just the type of high it gives me. My favorite method of smoking is using a glass bong gives me the best pure high.

7. What's next for Jon Dough aside from the Higher Learning campaign?

Well I plan on working on a mixtape in honor of "E.Z.S.D" called "Game 2 Be $old" working with a lot of artist I didn't get a chance to work with so far. The people should be in for a good surprise.

8. Anything else you wanna tell the people?

Be on the look out for the tape "Game 2 Be Solid". ill be dropping a lot of music, videos, higher learning clothing, website, & much more. You can catch me performing all through sacramento to the bay area, you won't be disappointed.
